Wilsons fame was surpassed by the U.S. in 2014 as she landed a part in Showtimes The Affair. In this show, Wilson was Alison Lockhart who is a young woman who is troubled and comes with a dark past. Lockhart is a lover of a married Noah Solloway. Wilson was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress of the Television Series in Drama 2015 together with Mauratierney as well as Joshua Jackson. Wilson stated in British Vogue: "I love the fact that I am able to play characters with two different perspectives." Noah considers that Alison is an attractive, confident and reckless persona of her. Her self-image is seen as a different person. Wilson began working in film later. In 2016, she starred in the horror film I Am the Pretty Thing which is a house. She also played the obscure PT Stella character in the 2017 sci-fi romance How to Talk to Girls At Parties. Wilson will add another horror film to her list of credits as she appears in The Little Stranger, a British remake of The Little Stranger, a supernatural thriller that is based on the novel of Sarah Waters. Wilson is also executive producing The film.
